Compact DPSS solid-state lasers with passive Q-switching

The models of the FTSS355-Q series, like all other Q-, High Power- or MOPA pulse lasers of CryLaS GmbH, belong to the group of DPSS lasers (diode-pumped solid-state lasers) with passive Q-switching. For applications requiring short emission durations in the sub-nanosecond range with comparatively high pulse energy and the smallest possible footprint, these lasers impress with their compact optical and external design.

The beam generation is based on a so-called microchip. It consists of a laser-active medium in the form of a Nd:YAG crystal with a saturable absorber, Cr:YAG, bonded to it. Additionally, the non-linear optics are installed in an air-sealed capsule, which can generate a broad spectrum of laser wavelengths by means of frequency combination and conversion.

The wavelength of 355 nm is particularly suitable for use on biological samples. Typical applications for the 355-Q series are ablation and microdissection on cell structures and molecules, for example. MALDI-TOF, a subtype of mass spectroscopy, is also a common application of the 355 nm lasers, which are competitive with the 337.1 nm N2 nitrogen lasers that are also typical here.

Our passively Q-switched, diode-pumped laser systems are suitable for OEM (original equipment manufacturer) applications due to their versatility. Thus in industrial and in scientific research. By mentioned frequency conversion and combination, we are able to generate laser light with five different wavelengths from IR to DUV:

  • 1064 nm
  • 532 nm
  • 355 nm
  • 266 nm
  • 213 nm

The pulse lasers are divided into three product lines and are recognized as reliable and field-proven laser sources for a very versatile range of applications. These product lines are based on three different concepts, each bringing different energy levels, pulse repetition rates and pulse durations.

We offer easy installation and handling of the lasers. But you also benefit from our lasers through plug-and-play and easy integration into your experimental setup or laboratory equipment. Our expert sales and engineering team will advise you from the beginning of an idea for an application, to the completion of your product. Our microchip lasers are characterized by their high quality, low service requirements and low operating costs, and are application-proven and reliable.
