Technical data:

Power amplified laser radiation in a special optical design

The MOPA (Master Oscillator Power Amplifier) series generally consists of a diode-pumped, passively Q-switched solid-state laser acting as the master oscillator and a diode-pumped power amplifier with a special optical design. Both work on the basis of a Nd:YAG crystal and the fundamental wave of 1064 nm. This is converted to frequency multiples after amplification by frequency conversion using non-linear optics. The main oscillator and frequency conversion module are housed in an air-sealed aluminum housing, allowing them to operate in challenging environmental conditions without losing reliability or becoming contaminated. Wavelengths from the ultraviolet to the infrared spectral range can be generated:

  • 213 nm
  • 266 nm
  • 355 nm
  • 532 nm
  • Non-converted wavelength 1064 nm

The MOPA laser system is available as a standalone version or as an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) variant. Additional options such as a synchronization module or an electrical beam blocker can be ordered separately and are available depending on the laser wavelength.

The MOPA family includes three product lines:

  • MOPAs with high peak power
  • MOPAs with high average power
  • eMOPAs (eco-MOPAs)

The high peak power MOPAs are limited in their maximum frequency and have longer pump times, and thus greater optical gain and more pulse energy. This increases the peak or pulse power while the pulse length remains the same. Integrating the laser into industrial systems is easy and fast due to the 19″ controller. The compactness of the laser head makes it easy to install in almost any optical system. Depending on the wavelength, our lasers are suitable for applications such as microdissection.

Due to the special technical design of the system, the laser operates in transversal single mode, with high peak-to-peak pulse power stability, good average power stability as well as short pulse duration. The compact design of the lasers allows the laser head and the control unit to be integrated into existing systems without much effort. The MOPA lasers consist of a passively Q-switched pulsed microchip laser operating in single pulse mode at different repetition rates – depending on the MOPA model. It can either rely on an external trigger source or be triggered with an internal trigger source via special software commands. The pulse energy is adjustable by simple terminal or software commands. The laser system is suitable for laser marking and processing as well as for applications in analytical metrology.
