The group of high-power lasers is historically the first product line of CryLaS GmbH. Depending on the model, these lasers operate from 20 Hz to 100 Hz and have a slightly larger controller and housing than the Q lasers. However, they have a higher single pulse energy. Based on an optical design using non-linear optics to generate frequency multiples of the 1064 nm fundamental, lasers of five different wavelengths can be realized here:
- 1064 nm
- 532 nm
- 355 nm
- 266 nm
- 213 nm
The laser energy is processed internally by means of a photodiode via a closed control loop and thus, the laser head is always kept at the optimum by thermal adjustment. This limits possible noise in the power to a minimum.
The DSS1064 product series of the High-Power series has the advantage that no frequency conversion is required. The resonator is pumped by means of an 808 nm laser diode and the generated laser radiation is emitted directly from the aperture. Depending on the pumping time, pulse energies of up to 3 mJ can be achieved here. This makes these lasers ideal – in addition to the wavelength excellently absorbed by metals – for ablation applications such as LIBS (laser-induced plasma spectroscopy) or materials processing. Acousto-optical applications are also feasible.
